Need experienced SPIP developer for updating CMS to most current version.

by Paul Lacy - 11 February 2015 18:49 - Replies : 4

We have a SPIP installation from version 1.9.2 and I am trying to get it updated. The developer who originally setup the 1.9.2 site used some customizations that are causing problems with a standard update.
Need a quote on the update.

  • please give us more details.

spip 192 is now pretty old. for security reasons, you really need to update to spip 2.1.26 or spip 3.0.17

  • This upgrade will depend on the customizations done by your last developper.

To find them, you can do a diff between your version and the equivalent standard version (zip file ou svn repos)

Send me some details by MP if your want me to help you more.

  • Some of the core files in /ecrire/ were modified- I can provide more details but the basics are that the fields in articles and ruberiques were modified to allow for custom fields that correspond to custom functions that are broken in the version 3 update. From what I can tell, there is no longer core modifications allowed in the new version so these changes will have to be implemented through plugins or some other method. I estimate about 20 hours work, but we can work that out.

  • Hi. I recently updated one client’s site from spip 1.9 to spip 3.0.17. That job had a few complications mainly because the squelettes’ sintaxis difered from the older version to the latest, but once I got those squelettes updated the site ran smootly. If you want I can take a closer look to your site and see if I can device a plan to update your spip instalation preserving the custom modifications and carry them to the updated site. You just le me know. eduardo.rojero at gmail
